Last week, the team of the Decision Modeling Center visited the Amsterdam Public Health annual meeting. The meeting started with a plenary session in which Prof. F. Godlee, editor of the BMJ, provided us with tips and tricks how to get our research published. Subsequently, Prof. J. Wyatt, Director of the Wessex Institute of Health & Research discussed whether we still need evidence-based medicine with big data and learning health systems.
The plenary session was followed by a poster session in which several members of the Decision Modeling Center presented their work. The poster of Venetia Qendri entitled “The cost-effectiveness profile of national HPV immunization programmes in seven European tender-based settings” was even awarded with the poster prize!
In the afternoon, Thomas Klausch gave an introduction to the problem of inference about treatment effects using retrospective and observational data during the masterclass on Causal Inference. Keep an eye on our website if you also want to follow masterclasses from the DMC team!
