Increasing our knowledge: Training in Discretely Integrated Condition Event (DICE) Simulation

Last week, Gabrielle Jongeneel travelled to Maastricht to follow a hands on training DICE simulation at the Maastricht University Medical Center. The training was provided by Jaime Caro and Jörgen Möller.

What is DICE simulation?

DICE simulation is a user friendly technique developed for health technology assessment that conceptualizes a disease process. The technique uses two different type of states; the health conditions and the events that may occur during the process. The transparent structure of the technique has been designed to meet the different modeling requirements. DICE simulation can be used for the development of different kind of models, such as state-transition models and discrete event simulation models.

Why is DICE simulation useful for our experts?

In our work we use different simulation models. Due to the accessibility of DICE simulation, this technique may be applied in one of our future projects. Gabrielle has learned various skills to translate the technique to other models. An instructive and useful end of the week.

Are you wondering if we are using DICE simulation in one of our future projects? Follow the website for updates.
