Eddymurphy Akwiwu holds two Masters degrees in Mathematical Sciences and Computational Engineering from the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences and LUT University, Finland respectively. He is currently doing a PhD on Bayesian methods in modelling cancer screening at Amsterdam University Medical Centers, Amsterdam. This project aims to develop novel statistical methods for multi-state models, specifically applied to cervical cancer screening and colorectal cancer screening. These methods aim to accurately estimate both the average-population and personalized risks of developing precursor lesions and cancer which could be used in evaluating the effectiveness of existing screening and surveillance strategies outlined in international guidelines.
